I am a rare book dealer, a bookbinder and a writer. I own a rare book company called Paternoster Row Books, where I specialize in 16th-19th century history, literature, politics and travel. Being a book dealer, it  goes hand in hand that I also collect rare books, most of which concern 19th century London, as that is my main interest of study. All the material on City of Shadows now comes directly from my own collection of primary sources, dating from the late 18th - early 20th century.
