Highgate Cemetery

Photographs of Highgate Cemetery, taken from "Highgate Cemetery: Victorian Valhalla" by John Gay, published in 1984 . Please note that these photographs are not to be used for any profit organization. I am offering them here only for your enjoyment. Also note that Highgate no longer looks like this, as the cemetery has been cleaned and restored, which, in my opinion, takes away the haunting beauty, though certainly will add to its longevity.

London Quotes
"I had a very elderly and esteemed relative who once told me while walking along the Strand he met a lion that had escaped from Exeter Change menagerie. I said, 'What did you do?', and he looked at me with contempt as if the question were imbecile. 'DO,' he said, 'Why, I took a cab'." Ford Maddox Brown
